Coenzyme Q10
is a naturally occurring substance and a
very powerful antioxidant. It is necessary for the production of energy at
cellular level. Every living being that depends on breathing for the energy
production contains coenzyme Q10 because it ensures the needed energy.
Coenzyme Q10 is the only form found in human tissue. Extended clinical
studies, showed that the coenzyme Q10 is integral in the generation of 95%
of all the energy required by the body.
Although it is part of
nutrition CoQ10 is not regarded as a vitamin, because the body can
manufacture it through food. Nonetheless the body cannot produce sufficient
amounts of Co Q10 to work properly so supplementation has to be taken.
CoQ10 is known to scientists as ubiquinol, this is a naturally occurring
nutrient normally present in every cell in the body, so it is only logical
to believe that it plays an important part in treating many conditions and
preventing them. To get a better picture, the CoQ10 has been very helpful in
treating conditions like periodical hypertension, congestion, angina
pectoris, cardiomyopathy ,
protection of the heart against the effects of
chemotherapist drugs, like "Adriamycin", disorders of immunity like
AIDS and cancer.
The enzymes are specialized
protein molecules, which generally require a mineral like magnesium or zinc,
and an organic chemical without protein, called coenzyme. Examples for such
coenzymes are vitamin B6, vitamin B12,
folic acid and CoQ10.
As already
mentioned, coenzyme Q10 is specifically used in the energy production in the cells.
There are already approximately
100 trillions cells in the human body, and each one must
produce its own energy to carry out its functions.
The cells
produce energy by burning mainly grease and carbohydrates.
This process of
oxidation occurs because of the combination of oxygen with foodstuffs that
is responsible for the production of carbon dioxide and water
The energy
produced by these chemical reactions is converted into chemical energy in
the molecules of adenosine triphosphate. These ATP molecules are available
to ensure energy for various chemical reactions necessary in your life,
a process called
bioenergetics. Co-Q10 is often called the
"spark" that starts the mitochondrial engines, without which cell life, and
thus human life, ceases to exist. More than 95% of
oxygen that we breathe is used, in order to create energy in order to burn
the organic substances.
Also, with aging, we
lose our capacity to manufacture coenzyme Q10 due to a slower food digestion
and therefore we deprive us of the natural protection against aging. The
solution is quite simple... Studies showed that the intake of coenzyme Q10
can be a cure for many diseases!
