The five alkaline mineral buffers in Alkaline Minerals
include:
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and is
also one of the most alkalizing. Calcium deficiency may ultimately lead to
acidification and negatively affect the bones, where 99 percent of calcium
is found. Research has shown that our unique form of whey calcium is more
bioavailable — i.e. better absorbed and utilized — than other calcium
ingredients, making it a superior calcium choice.
Magnesium is another crucial mineral that helps restore
proper pH Balance. In addition to its alkalizing effect, magnesium is vital
in assisting calcium and potassium uptake. Unfortunately, most Americans
don’t get enough magnesium through the diet. In fact, a recent study found
that a full 68 percent of Americans consume less than the RDA of magnesium —
and 19 percent consume less than 50 percent!
Potassium is an electrolyte critical in maintaining
proper acid-alkaline balance. Potassium is highly concentrated inside the
cells, while its partner, sodium, is highly concentrated outside the cells.
It is their perfect ratio that maintains fluid and electrolyte balance. In
caveman days, our potassium intake was seven times higher than our salt
intake. These days, we’ve gone completely out of balance, with sodium intake
tripling that of potassium.
Manganese is one of the unsung minerals. But just
because it doesn’t get as much press as calcium, magnesium, and potassium
doesn’t mean it’s not important. Like “the big three,” manganese supplies
alkaline buffers that neutralize acids in the system. Amazingly, manganese
is needed for numerous enzymes, so it is a required trace mineral for all
living things!
Iron, as you probably know, is necessary to carry oxygen
in the blood. This is of crucial importance for people who have trouble
metabolizing acids, since they cannot oxidize volatile acids properly.
Vitamin D3 is produced in skin exposed to sunlight,
specifically ultraviolet, B radiation. We have included Vitamin D3 for its’
ability to increases the flow of calcium into the bloodstream by: (1)
stimulating osteoclastic resorption of calcium from bone, (2) facilitating
the effect that parathyroid hormone has on calcium resorption from bone, (3)
increasing kidney tubular absorption of calcium, and (4) increasing calcium
absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.
Alkaline Minerals also features
Phosphorous, which is necessary for calcium uptake. Its inclusion
helps ensure that your body actually absorbs the calcium in this formula! It
also serves another role: Phosphorous binds to acids in the kidneys creating
a substance called phosphoric acid. This acid is then excreted via the
urine. Through this buffering method, the kidneys reduce the degree of
acidity in the bodily fluids.
Alkaline Minerals is a mineral rich supplement
designed to accelerate the elimination and neutralization of acids that are
often deeply embedded in the tissues of the body.
Product Details
Our acidic nation.
As a nation, we live an extremely acidic life. The foods we eat are
acid-forming: meat and poultry, pasteurized dairy products, baked goods,
trans fats and cooked oils, and refined sugars. Even most of the beverages
we drink are acid-forming: coffee, tea, pasteurized juices and milk, and
carbonated drinks. The lifestyle habits we have are acid-forming: drugs
(both pharmaceutical and “recreational”), alcohol, and stimulants. The
emotional states we gravitate toward are acid-forming: stress, anxiety, and
fear. And certain external factors that we have little control over are
acid-forming, like pollution and aging. (Many studies have shown that
acidification increases with age.)
Not surprisingly, the vast majority of Americans are likely suffering
from chronic, latent acidosis — and paying the consequences, with low
energy, fatigue, excess weight, poor digestion, aches and pains, and even
more serious disorders.
In fact, since acid is naturally corrosive and inflammatory, too much
of it can have a negative impact on our bones, our joints, and
our gastro-intestinal tracts.
“But aren’t our bodies naturally equipped with the ability to neutralize
these acids?”, you may be thinking. The short answer is yes. The human body
removes weak acids (like citric acid in lemons or acetic acid in apple cider
vinegar) from the lungs in the form of carbon dioxide. And it removes strong
acids from the kidneys through the urine, and from the skin through the
sweat. However, our bodies can only process so much acid – especially strong
acid. And when we get overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of it produced by
our modern lifestyle, we simply can’t eliminate it all. That’s when problems
develop.
Where do the acids go?
What happens when our production of acids exceeds our intake of alkaline
mineral buffers? Before we answer that question, let’s take a deeper look at
how pH works.
Most parts of the body have a pH range they can tolerate. The skin can
vary from 4.5 to 7.0, for example. Stomach acid ranges from 1.0 to 3.0. And
pancreatic secretions go from 8.0 to 8.3. But the blood is not so flexible.
It has a very narrow pH range: 7.35 to 7.45. If the pH of your blood goes
outside that range even just a little… wham; the functioning of your organs
is compromised. If the pH of your blood strays too far from that acceptable
range for too long, your body will go into shock…then coma…then death. No
joke. As you can imagine, the body will do just about anything to keep that
from happening. So when your blood starts becoming even a tiny bit acidic,
it has to do something with the excess acids.
The option of choice is to
send the acids to the kidneys for elimination.
But what happens when the kidneys are at full capacity — when
they simply can’t accept all the acids being produced by the body? Then
where do they go?
If you have enough alkaline buffers in your system, they mix with the
acids and become neutral salts. (In other words, the acids and the alkaline
minerals cancel each other out.) But if you don’t — like most
Americans — the body’s only choice is to force the acids deep into the
tissues, which can withstand pH fluctuations better than the blood.
There, they cause inflammation and, ultimately, damage.
Acidification = Mineral Deficiency.
The good news (yes, there is good news) is that neutralizing the acids
locked within your tissues is remarkably simple: Just load your body with
alkaline mineral buffers.
You see, acidification is primarily a synonym for mineral
deficiency. That’s because alkaline mineral buffers — such as
calcium, magnesium, potassium, manganese, and iron — combine with acids to
create neutral salts.
The neutral salt that’s created can then enter the bloodstream for
elimination, without affecting the pH of the blood.
And voila, pH balance is restored.
Of course, most of us aren’t taking in nearly the amount of minerals that
we need to be. And the minerals that we do get are being immediately seized
by the body to neutralize the excess acids in our systems. That may be why
so many Americans are deficient in key minerals like potassium, calcium,
magnesium, and iron. The body is using them up as fast as possible to
neutralize all those acids in the blood!
The quick and effective way to neutralize acids.
The best way to neutralize excess acid is to cancel it out with alkaline
mineral buffers. Alkaline Minerals contains all five primary
alkaline minerals — calcium, magnesium, potassium, manganese, and iron
— so it quickly goes to work to neutralize damaging acids deep within your
tissues. We’ve selected only the highest quality mineral forms to include in
Alkaline Minerals, including calcium derived from organic whey powder,
which makes it perhaps the only organic-source calcium on the market. And
since calcium requires phosphorous for proper absorption, the Alkaline
Minerals formula also includes phosphorous.
An added bonus.
Not only will Alkaline Minerals neutralize the acids in your
system, when taken on a daily basis, it will also help you build up your
mineral reserves. That means you’ll have a ready supply of minerals on-hand
when needed. And since minerals are required for, oh, over 300 reactions in
the body, that’s a good thing.
Packed with all five primary alkaline minerals, Alkaline
Minerals may be the quickest way on earth to transform a stagnant, acidic
system into a vibrant, pH-neutral one. |
