Directions to test urine:
Do not test the first urine of the morning, since this is usually more
acidic than normal.
Test the second urine of the day.
You will likely see urine pH become more alkaline as the
day progresses. Fill a small cup with urine, and dip a strip into the cup.
Read in 15 seconds.
Test frequently during the day, and determine an average. Results: 7.0 is
neutral. A reading
above 6.5 is considered normal. A reading below 6.5 is acidic, and a reading
below 6.0 is very
acidic. Note: A urine reading of 7.5 or above, while uncommon, indicates a
body that is too
alkaline, or may indicate that the kidneys are producing ammonia
to buffer acids due to mineral
deficiency. If you are below 6.0, you may want
to seek the counsel of a professional.
Directions to test saliva: Wait 2 hours after eating. Spit into a
spoon. Dip the strip. Read in 15 seconds. Use the color
chart for the correct indication. An optimal reading is 7.0 to 7.5. This
indicates a slightly
alkaline body. It is recommended that you test yourself a few times
throughout the day to get
an average reading. If you are below 6.0 track the following: Eat a piece of
bread, chewing it
until it dissolves in your mouth; then test your saliva immediately and note
the pH. Wait 30
minutes, and test again. Test once more one hour later. You want to see how
quickly your
saliva pH is diminishing. If you are below 6.0, you may want to seek the
counsel of a
professional.

Compare pH Stix with standard pH paper from rolls. Paper tends to bleed
when it gets wet, making the determination of the correct color quite a
challenge. pH Stix are different- the reagent is affixed to a plastic
strip. No paper, no bleeding, no mess; easy testing. pH Stix pH Test
Strips is the clear choice. |
This is
what Dr. Ted Baroody, author of "Alkalize or Die" has to say about pH Stix:
"I get hundreds of calls for pH testing materials. pH testing is very
complex. There are individual pH testing substances for everything, but they
are very expensive. This particular strip is reasonably priced too. I have
looked a long time and through many companies to find these quality pH
strips. My experience with litmus pH paper strips has not been good. I do
not recommend them."
