Vitamin E Natural

Nature Made

Vitamin E Natural

  • Vitamin E is an antioxidant that fights against damaging natural substances known as free radicals.
It is incorporated into the fat-based tissues of the body, such as the heart, fat-carrier molecules like LDL (“bad” cholesterol), and our cell membranes, where it acts to stabilize these structures and protect them from free radical attack.

  • Vitamin E is an antioxidant and prevents the oxidation of LDL (the bad cholesterol). Oxidized (rancid) LDL accelerates the formation of artery clogging plaque and is a major culprit in atherosclerosis.

  • Vitamin E functions as anticoagulant, which means it delays the clotting of the blood. It can help prevent thrombosis, the formation of blood clots in the arteries which causes heart attacks. Specifically vitamin E reduces platelet aggregation, the tendency of platelets to become sticky and pile on each other forming blood clots or plaque.

  • Vitamin E functions as anti-inflammatory (reduces inflammation). There is strong evidence that inflammation increases the production of free radicals that cause oxidation of LDL. Inflammation also accelerates the formation of plaque and the formation of blood clots (thrombosis). This explains why half of all heart attacks happen to people with normal cholesterol levels.

  • Vitamin E is a family of eight compounds four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. Tocotrienols appear to affect a key enzyme in the liver (HMGCoA reductase) which plays a key role in the synthesis of cholesterol. As such tocotrienols help maintain good cardiovascular health.
