Glucosamine MSM Complex
by Schiff is formulated to support healthy flexible joints by combining key
ingredients.
Glucosamine is the primary building block of many joint tissues which act to
maintain joint integrity for the treatment and prevention of injury and
arthritic conditions.
Specifically, glucosamine appears to act as a major
precursor and/or building block of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). GAGs include
hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulphate, keratan sulphate and others. Because
chondroitin and keratan are sulphated at key sites, they are also referred
to as polysulphated GAGs or PSGAGs. Both GAGs and PSGAGs are components in
the structural matrix of joints, which involve synovial fluid, cartilage,
tendons, ligaments, bones, blood vessels and capillaries. They are also
structural components of membranes in the digestive and respiratory tracts.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)
is an organic and bioavailable source of sulfur found in many food items.
Sulfur is used by the body to manufacture antioxidants (glutathione and
cysteine) and connective tissue. Schiff's Glucosamine complex is a
proprietary blend of all three forms of glucosamine (Glucosamine HDl,
N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine, and Glucosamine Sulfate). MSM and Glucosamine are
key structural components of cartilage and play an important role in
promoting healthy joint cartilage.
